For some reason, the new Rihanna video; 'You Da One' from the album, Talk That Talk is kind of very eclectic & fun. She seems to be re-inventing herself every so often and whether it's for personal style or record sales I'll say not bad RiRi. I still maintain though that I'm not a huge fan of hers but I appreciate art, fashion and creativity as she incorporates those three elements into her career but there's no outdoing Madonna!

Awakening Teaser.

It really seems the best in Nigerian cinema are really brewing up a lot lately, weaving thicker plots and getting darker with their movie themes and storyline. This is yet again another movie teaser still under development but in the :37 seconds that see what's yet to come, you can't but get your curiosity tweaked with some eeriness and mystery. It's really a breath of fresh air to find that it's a modern epic that kind of reminds me of Hollywood's Invasion (Starring Nichole Kidman & Daniel Craig) and  Knowing (starring Nicolas Cage & Rose Byrne). Because I remember seeing the trailers of these films before they premièred and being a lover of myths, legends, epics & mysterious thrillers, I was totally ecstatic and seeing the film poster for Awakening last year, I couldn't wait for the trailer!!! And to think there's a teaser but for just :37 seconds only?  *sigh*

 I am well impressed about this film's cast. Why? They aren't the over used faces in Nollywood  although you see them on the screen every now and then but there's that scarcity about them that makes us yearn for them and what they'll deliver. It stars, Oc Ukeje, Kehinde Bankole, Femi Brainard, Adewale Aroloye and Brian Okwara.

Finally, I'm more than inclined to see the craft of director James Omokwe but I can be sure he's genius!!!

Watching the trailer really does give you an insight into what to expect only it deviates from the Nollywood usual plots that I am sure we are all used to seeing and of course tired of as well. Haven't seen it in full so I won't go ahead of myself but I'm thinking since it stars two of Nollywood's finest, HRM Joke Silva and yet to be endorsed OC the great Ukeje for some that is, as he's endorsed and stamped for as far as I am concerned then you can't go wrong going to the cinemas for when it premières. Most of all I like the mystery that comes with the teaser *bigsmile*

One of the strangers a woman in her fifties is perceived to have a dual personality, Asa pretty young attractive lady in the sight of all except Arome, she seeks for help from Arome.

Arome's fortune changes. He is suddenly faced with death after been caught in a web of indecision. Mystically he's alive. Now he's left with a puzzle. Who are this strangers whose image fade away even from pictures leaving no trace of who they are. Some mysteries are better told. In the world but not alone.

10 years today that you've been gone Aaliyah.

And I still remember how the news of her death filtered into school ten years a ago today. I was still in high school then and some how a student had gone to get our test sheets and had happened to catch on on the information from the radio in the teacher's office that Aaliyah had just died and a plane crash or car crash but she wasn't sure. I remember the classroom going crazy and I said to myself, I'll be calm till I get home and make proper findings, she can't be dead. Really and truly I got home and there it was on entertainment news, confirming her death alongside a couple of others she had gone to shoot with.

Aaliyah was truly and still is, in my opinion a very rare talent that cannot be replaced. I cannot imagine how much success & achievements she would have amassed were she to be alive this day. She was the very core of R&B music very soulful and true to her talents. She's one star I hoped I'd meet with someday as well as the late Michael Jackson too.

You are indeed still shining as a star and your music will forever live on, rest in peace.

He’s another promising actor to watch out for. Since winning AMBO reality TV showing and playing lead role in their flagship movie: White Waters, alongside the evergreen Joke Silva, he’s fast risen and is doing very well for himself. He gave a stellar performance of an autistic child who was great as an athlete on the tracks, found love along the way and in the end rose above all.

Just like every other actor who is always ace and on point, OC first emerged as a stage actor then went on to screen, but he’s still very much into stage acting. White Waters, Kidnap, Jeta Amata’s high profile Black Gold, soon to be out Two Brides & a Baby, a Bconcept movie by Blessing Effiom Egbe amongst other movies  are great works he’s starred in. After attending New York film school in 09, he has continued to impress industry watchers and won the AMAA  the previous year, 2008.
